Learning in a Digital World
The world has changed dramatically in the last 30 years. The rise of the internet means that much of our lives now takes place online, and the process of digitizing society only seems to be accelerating. With this rapid change comes the need to know about digital citizenship – the roles, responsibilities, and skills for navigating digital life (2021). Why is digital citizenship important in schools for the 21st century? Addressing the 21st century skills of digital citizenship is important; helps students to learn, communicate and collaborate safely and responsibly. Being a good digital citizen in the community includes having email etiquette, reporting and preventing cyber bullying, learning how to protect private information, etc. (2014). |
